Vicky's Story



Vicky, 23 yrs has lost over 3 stone


Vicky (23yrs) began to put on weight 9 years ago when her brother passed away.


“I started comfort eating and the weight just piled on, I went from a size 8 to a 16 in one year and I just got bigger and bigger until I got up to a size 22 earlier this year.”


Vicky tried many diets and would often lose weight but would then find it difficult to keep the weight off:


“I tried every diet going, the cabbage soup diet, the maple syrup diet. You name it I’ve done it, not eating, laxatives, big diet commercial companies, I’ve done the lot. None of them worked for me in the long run, some worked short term but I’d always put the weight back on.”


When Vicky became pregnant last year she decided that she wanted to lose weight as soon as her baby was born:


“6 weeks after my daughter Ella was born I looked around for a way to start losing weight. It had been a difficult birth and I had post-natal depression and wasn’t very confident. I heard about this programme from a friend and I decided to do it.”


Vicky started the programme earlier this year:


“The programme taught me to look at what I was eating and how much I was moving - my whole lifestyle really. I started by cutting my portions down and doing small amounts of exercise and building up. I just started off with small goals - instead of a car ride I would walk. “


“Initially I only lost a certain amount, so I increased my exercise a little bit and by my next weigh in I had lost over a stone just by doing a bit extra.”


“I’ve learnt how to look at food labels - not just fat content but sugar content and calories as well. I’ve learnt to make wise food choices instead of buying cream of tomato soup I’ve learnt how to make my own and I love it and it saves me money.”


Vicky has lost over 3 stone and is continuing to lose weight:


“I am just so happy with it all, it really works – it’s not a faddy diet. I am a really really busy person and I have a family and this programme fits in with all that. Also, I don’t have to go without. I eat a bit of everything; I have a blow out once a week (Tuesdays by the way). “


“I feel really good now, I feel so much more confident. Before you would never have got me to a pole dancing class and now I’m at stage 3. Everything in my wardrobe used to be black, not now! And the best thing of all is that I can easily keep up with my daughter.”
