Eileen and Lesley's Story
Hi, I’m Eileen and I joined the programme in May. I’d heard so much about it from a friend and I thought “Right, I am going to get on this programme!”
Hi, I’m Lesley and I didn’t want to go on this weight loss programme. Eileen persuaded me and I’m pleased I did go because I’ve lost 1 stone 2 pound and why I needed to go was because my clothes didn’t fit me last Christmas.
Eileen: I think it was just eating stodgy things you know, and puddings and chocolates and crisps and all this. It all crept on and I kept getting weighed and thinking “I must stop eating these things!” But I didn’t, I kept on till I started the programme.
Lesley: I think the food diary was easy, you know. I found it easy to follow did you Eileen?
Eileen: Yes I did, very easy.
Lesley: It’s all there in black and white for you to see, to follow as well. I found it easy and it was interesting. I feel much healthier by eating all this right food and the right sized portions
Eileen: It’s also based on a points system. Where depending on how much you weigh erm they calculate how many points you are allowed each day and there’s a menu where it tells you what things, how many points things have. Potatoes how many points they are, how many points biscuits or er cheese, everything. Everything you could possibly eat its done on this points system.
Lesley: Well, we have a dog so I always went out with the dog but, not to do as much exercise as Eileen and I do now. We go everyday, walking at some point. We just go anywhere walking. Sometimes we go where we live, it's a nice walking area so we walk for quite a few miles don’t we? Six miles at one stretch. When we first started walking at a steady pace, we couldn’t talk properly and walk because we were out of breath. Now we can talk and we walk faster. We never stop talking and we walk faster and faster so we do know now that we are a lot fitter.
Eileen: You can still have your treats; if you having a vodka and tonic or something you can have a packet of Quavers which I like to have with my vodka and tonic. Only once a week, just once a week. But yes, you can have treats. If someone offered me a sweet or a piece of chocolate, I wouldn’t say no. Now I would just have it.
Lesley: Instead of having 2 you’d have 1.
Eileen: Well, I don’t know about that! If I’m being honest.
